As you approach Athol Bay head on from the sea you will be met by two small beaches, the first of which is surrounded by rocky slopes and a timber jetty. The smaller Whiting Beach is south facing, and with a dense vegetation back drop. A creek babbles along to form a gentle pool, ideal for safe paddling and exploring.

Enjoy shallow swimming or relaxing fishing off the jetties and rock fronts, or just relax for a while on the quiet sands. If you fancy a stroll it's a pleasant walk across to Taronga Zoo, where wildlife of all descriptions lives. The views are spectacular across the harbour, giving you a picture postcard perfect panorama.

And with Athol Hall nearby for a coffee, you can enjoy the vista in style over a brew, with a slight breeze wafting your way.

Relaxing can be such hard work sometimes!
