Chowder Beach is the perfect stop off point for some relaxation and refreshment. Situated near Mosman on the southern side of Middle Head peninsula, it hides under the beautiful bushland backdrop with stunning views across the harbour.

Formerly occupied by the military, many of the historic buildings and Clifton Gardens Wharf have been converted to eateries and lively cafes, providing a pleasant spot to re-charge your batteries. Named after the dish made famous by the whalers, you'll still find the fish stew on the menus today.

The beach itself is home to a few palms providing some much needed shade, with a grassy park area behind, perfect for picnics on one of the shaded tables. When rested, tackle the Bungaree Walkway to enjoy vistas from George's Head Lookout.

Spectacular views not to be missed.
