Double Bay Wharf
Double Bay Wharf
Situated at the heart of the Double Bay neighbourhood in south-eastern Sydney Harbour, Double Bay Wharf is a popular pick up and drop off point for groups hiring boats from the surrounding areas of Bondi Beach, Bellevue Hill, Woolahra, Queens Park and beyond. If you'd like to reserve a Double Bay pick up or drop off for your Sydney Harbour cruise, let our team know when you book your boat hire through Ucruise Sydney and we'll be happy to help arrange it for you. Please be advised, however, that Double Bay Wharf, like many wharfs in Sydney Harbour, has a few restrictions in place that may mean your group can't book boat hire from here.
Choosing Double Bay Wharf for Your Cruise Pick Up
Double Bay Wharf services a large catchment of south-eastern Sydney neighbourhoods such as Double Bay, Woolahra and Bondi. In 2023, the wharf also underwent some significant upgrades including increasing the berths available for docking vessels, improvements to lighting and security, seating and waiting area upgrades and the addition of footpaths and aboriginal art to the facilities. Double Bay Wharf is now classified as "independent acces" by Transport for NSW as well, making it an appropriate choice for groups with special access requirements.
Getting to Double Bay Wharf
Public transport services to Double Bay Wharf are pretty good, with a number of bus services stopping with a couple of minutes' walk from the jetty (including, among others, the 328, 325 and 326). The Edgecliff train station is also only just over 15 minutes away on foot or a short cab ride. Water taxis and the F7 ferry service from Circular Quay also stop here. By car, you'll find a few secure parking areas in the New South Head Road area, all within a 10-minute walk of the wharf. Cyclists will be happy to hear that there are bike racks available at Double Bay Wharf.
Double Bay Wharf boasts a fair few amenities nearby, including a bottleshop close the the wharf on Bay Street, where you can pick up booze and ice, and a range of shops back on New South Head Road where you should be able to grab any other last-minute items such as sunblock. Be aware, however, that punctuality is very important at wharfs with public ferry services as the ferries will always have right of way over private hires.
