Airlie Beach Race Week Boating Festival

The Whitsundays Sailing club is located in Airlie beach which is becoming one of the World's premier sailing destinations. Airlie Beach is also home to one of the largest yacht racing regattas in Australia. The event is hosted by the Whitsundays Sailing Club and now in its 33rd year attracting 1450 competitors from all over the world. With seven days and nights of high-profile entertainment and activities.

The event 

The event is open from 3.30pm – 8.30pm except Mondays at the Whitsundays Sailing Club. The regatta provides exciting racing in an amazing setting and is recognised amongst sailors as a fun and well-run event. Also, you will experience a relaxed atmosphere with some serious sailing and fun socialising. 

There is a wide range of food stalls to choose from all for local suppliers. This year they have decided to make the club licensed, so you can enjoy a cold beer or a glass of bubbles while enjoying the live entertainment.

Food & Drink

As well as the selection of local food stalls, you can also join in the Long Lunch Wine tasting for $115 per adult. The long lunch will be set on the balcony overlooking the race course and Pioneer Bay. All the produce is locally sourced and bringing to the plate in a modern presentation. Each year they have a theme for the lunch, this year is a fun international theme, be sure to book at table as there are limited spaces. Indulge, relax and enjoy.

Getting There

The easiest way to reach Airlie Beach is to fly from  Brisbane (one hour and 40 minutes) to Proserpine Airport, also known as Whitsunday Coast Airport. Shuttle buses transfer between the airport and Airlie Beach and take about 40 minutes.
